BOLO’S BASH 2009 BENEFITING B.A.S.E. CAMP CHILDREN’S CANCER FOUNDATION

Dear Visitor,

The Marquez family has joined forces with B.A.S.E. Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation and Alce Events to produce Bolo’s Bash, a fundraising event inspired by a remarkable young man named Sabastian “Bolo” Marquez. The event will be held at the Rix Lounge at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort on Saturday, October 10, 2009, from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m.

In the summer of 2005, Bolo was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at thirteen years old. In 2006, he entered the remission stage only to relapse with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), a more aggressive type of cancer. It was during his battle that he took the time to smile, greet strangers and put younger patients at ease when they were afraid. Those of us who knew Bolo remember him for his strength, courage and confidence.

B.A.S.E. Camp is a nonprofit organization that provides weekly hospital visits, clinic parties and monthly overnight camps to help children and their families interact during their chemotherapy treatments and often extended hospital visits.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 that will allow B.A.S.E. Camp to continue to be an aid to the families whose children are affected by these life threatening illnesses. We are counting on the generosity of members like you to help us reach our goal.
